*Lunch for for Tues, Nov 14 is hamburger pony, corn, cheesecake & fruit

*There are 10 Papa John's pizzas available for $8 each for lunch.  If you're interested, please call the office this morning.

*We will run the meeting schedule today for FFA

*National Honor Society will meet today during lunch in Mr. Harbourn's room.

*Juniors--Cookie dough will be delivered today . Please have arrangements to take your boxes home since we cannot store them.

*There will be a cookie, milk and hot chocolate social today during JH and HS lunches.  Each item is just 50 cents.

*Liberty-Payson varsity girls basketball team plays tonight at Monroe City at 6:00.  Then the varsity boys basketball team plays at Monroe City at 7:30.  Their bus is at 5:30.

*Congratulations to the Christmas Ball court named at the dance on Saturday:

 *On Friday, National Honor Society will sponsor a hat day (preferably a holiday hat) for $1.00.  Funds will be paid in Mr. Harbourn's room and money will go to Payson Fishes and Loaves for food for Christmas.  Mr. Mosley has agreed to match the money dollar for dollar.  Please participate so we can present them with a nice holiday gift.  (This includes all staff!)

*The starting time for the JH basketball game Thurs, Dec 16 at QJHS has been moved up to 4:30.

*Student Council is sponsoring a food drive class competition.  Bring in your canned goods to your class sponsor.  The class with the highest number of canned goods will earn a treat.

*Those students wanted to sign up for JWCC dual credit for next semester for Math and/or English need to have their papers into Mrs. Callahan by Friday, Dec. 17.

*Winter Dance for JH students will be held on Fri, Dec 17 from 7-10.  Please fill out a guest pass if you're bringing someone from another school.

 *Students needing to make a schedule change for next semester should try to do so before Christmas break. 

*School will be dismissed at 1:55 on Tues, Dec 21 for Christmas break.  School resumes on Mon, Jan 3.

*Schedules for finals are available in the office.  Please pick one up for the specific times.

*Softball calendars for the month of December are in Miss Wiedman's room.  There is optional conditioning Monday, Wednesday and Fridays along with pitching/catching on Tues. and Thurs.  There is open-batting on Sunday nights starting at 4-- please contact Coach Wiedman with the time you want to hit.

*Seniors—Turn in your Churchill Photography form and your Proofs to Mrs. Germann ASAP.

*Seniors—There is 1 group picture left available for purchase.  The cost is $10.  See Mrs. Germann.

*There are extra Pep Club shirts & sweatshirts with the "One Town, One Team, One Dream" saying.  Please see Kendra if you're interested.

Weekend Event -Christmas Ball for HS students will be held Saturday from 7-10 in the high school gym.

 

*Lunch for for Mon, Dec 13 has changed to a salad bar, crackers & fruit.

*Lunch for Fri, Dec 17 has changed to egg casserole, hashbrown cubes, mini muffins & fruit.

*Congratulations to TJ Klitz who received honorable mention All-State for football!

*The Bud Scranton JV Basketball Tournament will be held tonight, Weds & Thurs.  Payson plays tonight at 7:30.

*Liberty-Payson girls basketball team plays tonight at Pittsfield at 6:30.

*JH Basketball team plays tonight at Griggsville-Perry at 6:15.  Bus at 5:00.

*There will be a cookie, milk and hot chocolate social today & tomorrow during JH and HS lunches.  Each item is just 50 cents.

*Congratulations to Coach Asbury who was named the People's Choice award for WGEM's Football Coach of the Year!  Coming off of 18 consecutive losses, he led the Mustangs to their first playoff berth in 11 years.  He received 1300 votes and will be featured on WGEM tonight.

*Congratulations to the following students for being named to the Herald-Whig All-Area teams:
        Football

  • 1st Team Defense - TJ Klitz
  • 2nd Team Offense - Austin Zanger

        Volleyball

  • 1st Team - Dakota Flesner
  • 2nd Team - Catherine Richards
  • Honorable Mention - Erin Smith

*Congratulations to the 8th grade basketball team who won the PCC tournament championship by beating Liberty by 32 points.  Check out their trophy in the office window.  Good job, boys!

 *JH & JV & Varsity Basketball teams play tonight at Unity starting at 4:00.  JH bus leaves at 2:45.  JV & Varsity bus leaves at 4:45.

*The Junior Class at Unity is holding a Taco Supper and Potato Bar tonight, beginning at 5:00 p.m.-and serving until 6:30 or so.  Cost is $4.00 each, which includes koolaid.

*All Pep Club members--we will be decorating for the dance today after school.

*Any football player that would like to purchase a football playoff patch for $12.50, let Coach Asbury know today.

*Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Grams until Dec 15th.  They are 50 cents each and will be delivered on Dec 16.

*Student Council is sponsoring a Hallway decorating contest.  Hallways need to be done by Fri, Dec 10 at lunch time for judging.

*Student Council is sponsoring a food drive class competition.  Bring in your canned goods to your class sponsor.  The class with the highest number of canned goods will earn a treat.

*Seniors--please turn in your pictures for the Senior video to Alex Wiseman, Bryce Terwelp, or Brittany Speckhart by Friday, December 10.  If you have not turned in your pictures or talked to one of these class members we cannot guarantee you will be included in the Senior video.

*Christmas Ball for HS students will be held on Sat, Dec 11 from 7-10. Please fill out a guest pass if you're bringing someone from another school.

*Winter Dance for JH students will be held on Fri, Dec 17 from 7-10.  Please fill out a guest pass if you're bringing someone from another school.

*School will be dismissed at 1:55 for Christmas break.  School resumes on Mon, Jan 3.


 *Students needing to make a schedule change for next semester should try to do so before Christmas break. 

*Seniors—Turn in your Churchill Photography form and your Proofs to Mrs. Germann ASAP.

*The Junior High (7/8) grade and the 5th/6th grade volleyball teams are selling t-shirts.  They are blue with a tie-dye design and will say Payson Volleyball.  If you would like to order, please let Ms. Brokaw know a size.  They are $12.00.

*Lifting will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

*The Accounting class will be serving breakfast for you every Tuesday and Friday morning in your lobby.  They serve a variety of all your favorite breakfast foods.  It's always at a great low price for a great value.  It's one stop at the Breakfast Barrio for the only breakfast served in school.

*Homework Haven is at the Jr/Sr High from 3:05-4:05 Monday-Thursday in Mrs. Gilligan's room.

Weekend Events

*8th Grade basketball team plays on Saturday at 1:45 vs Calhoun in the PCC Tournament at Pleasant Hill.  If they win, they play on Monday at 7:45.  If they lose, they play on Monday at 6:30.

*The Payson Seymour STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) class will be holding a hog roast Saturday from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Payson Grade School.  The price is $10/ticket and includes baked beans, chips, cole slaw, dessert & beverage.  Please see a class member or teacher for tickets--only so many are available.  Proceeds will help fund community service & classroom projects.  Please help support this inspiring class!

 

 

 *Lunch for Mon, Dec 6 is spaghetti with meat, garlic stix, 7-layer salad & fruit

*All PE classes will meet in the library today.

*The JH/HS Winter Concert will be held tonight at 7:00.  Students should dress up for the event & are encouraged to bring in baked goods on Dec 6 for the silent auction that will be held by the Music Boosters.  Please plan to attend and support our band and choir.

*Liberty-Payson girls basketball team plays tonight at home vs Brussels at 5:30.

*We will run the meeting schedule tomorrow for Spanish Club.
