*Athletic Club is now selling tshirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, & hats.  Order forms are in the office and color examples are on the website.  Deadline is Nov 12.

 *HS Cheerleaders are selling picture buttons of each high school basketball player & cheerleader for $4.00/each.  Orders are due Fri, Nov 12 and money are due with the order form.  Order forms are in the office and should be given to Ashley Oberling.

*Mid-terms are Mon, Nov 15

*HS Book Club will meet on Nov. 18 during lunch to discuss Chp 6-15 of Mockingjay.  The Book Club is just for fun.  There are no quizzes or tests or papers to fill out.  Also, we will read the books that you choose to read.  Come and join us!

*The Payson Seymour STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) class will be holding a hog roast on Sat, Dec. 4 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Payson Grade School.  The price is $10/ticket and includes baked beans, chips, cole slaw, dessert & beverage.  Please see a class member or teacher for tickets--only so many are available.  Proceeds will help fund community service & classroom projects.  Please help support this inspiring class!

In 2010, we will establish a Hall of Fame that will honor the accomplishments of past Payson Seymour High School athletes, coaches & teams.  The inaugural class will be inducted at Homecoming on Fri, Feb 4 during halftime of the varsity boys basketball game.

A person can qualify for the Hall of Fame by falling into one of the following categories:

  • Those who participated in Payson Seymour High School athletics having earned a letter in a particular sport or sports for at least two years.  In addition, those who received honors in one or all of the following:  All-Conference/Regional/Sectional/State or American.  The athlete must have graduated from Payson Seymour High School and been out of school for more than 10 years.
  • A Payson Seymour High School athlete who participated in Payson Seymour athletics and competed in college athletics or has attained a profession in athletics.  This person must have been out of school for more than 10 years.
  • Coaches at Payson Seymour High School, past or present.
  • Persons who have given commendable service to the athletic program at Payson Seymour High School or those who are devoted friends to the athletic program.
  • A Payson Seymour High School team which has attained record status or state recognition, 10 years prior to selection.

If you know of someone who is deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, please fill out the attached form and returned to Brad Page, Athletic Director, by Weds, Jan. 12.  Click here for form.

*Parent Teacher Conference will be:  Thurs, Nov 4 from noon-4:00 and 5:00-7:00/Fri, Nov 5 from 8:00-noon

*All high school basketball players and cheerleaders need to be here at 8:45 on Thurs, Nov 4 to take a team picture.

*Mrs. Gilligan's Washington DC informational parent meeting has changed to Thurs, Nov 4 at 5:00.

*8th grade basketball team plays in the championship game of the Unity tournament Thurs, Nov 4 at 7:15.  Bus at 6:00.

*PCC Choral Festival will be held Thurs, Nov 4 at Payson.  Rehearsal starts at 1:00.  Concert starts at 7:00 that night.

*Sadie Hawkins dance will be Fri, Nov. 5 from 7-10 pm.  The cost is $3/person.  This year's theme is "My Big Green Tractor".  All high school students are invited to attend.  Remember to dress appropriately for the dance.

*Student Council members--remember we are starting to decorate at 10 am on Friday morning, Nov. 5.  All members are required to be there for decorating.  Also, do not forget to bring your drinks or snacks for the dance--freshmen bring drinks, sophomores bring chips, juniors bring cookies or desserts, seniors bring a bag of candy.

*8th grade basketball team plays in the Jacksonville Shootout on Fri, Nov 5 at 6:00.  Bus at 4:00.

*IMEA District Festival will be Sat, Nov 6 in Macomb.  Bus time is 6:15.  Rehearsal starts at 8:15.  JH Concert is at 2:30 and HS Concert at 4:30.  Please tell Mr. Bowman if you will be riding home with your parents.

*WCC Choral Festival will be held today at Camp Point.  Students will be leaving after 3rd hour to attend this event.  Concert is at 7:00.

*Art Club dues are $2.00.  Please pay them to Harlee Flesner or Matt Mellon by Weds, Nov. 3.

*Spanish Club dues are $2.00.  Please pay to Ashley Oberling by Weds, Nov. 3.

*Picture retakes and senior individual pictures will be taken on Weds, Nov. 3.

*School will be dismissed at 1:55 on Weds, Nov. 3.  There will be no school on Thurs, Nov. 4 and Fri, Nov. 5.  Parent-Teacher Conferences will be:

  • Weds, Nov. 3 (4:30-6:30).
  • Thurs, Nov. 4 (noon-4:00 and 5:00-7:00)
  • Fri, Nov. 5 (8:00-noon)

*Athletic Club is now selling tshirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, & hats.  Order forms are in the office and color examples are on the website.  Deadline is Nov 12.

*HS Book Club will meet on Nov. 18 during lunch to discuss Chp 6-15 of Mockingjay.  The Book Club is just for fun.  There are no quizzes or tests or papers to fill out.  Also, we will read the books that you choose to read.  Come and join us!

*The Payson Seymour STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) class will be holding a hog roast on Sat, Dec. 4 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Payson Grade School.  The price is $10/ticket and includes baked beans, chips, cole slaw, dessert & beverage.  Please see a class member or teacher for tickets--only so many are available.  Proceeds will help fund community service & classroom projects.  Please help support this inspiring class!

*There are still volleyball shirts available (larger sizes too).  See Dakota Flesner if interested.

*The VOTEC Graphics class is selling Payson Indian drawstring bags for $7.00.  An example is hanging in the office window.  Order forms are in the office.

*Homework Haven is at the Jr/Sr High from 3:05-4:05 Monday-Thursday in Mrs. Gilligan's room.

*JWCC is offering an Intro to Welding Class on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Starting on Nov. 9th, this class will be held at the JWCC Ag. Education Center in Perry.  Call 236-4711 to register.

*Central High School is hosting a dodgeball tournament on Nov. 13th.  There is a flyer on the office window with the information.
