CALL TO ORDER
Lisa Schwartz called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

ROLL CALL
Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present:  Keith Barry, Russ Board, Danelle Donley, Corey Hagerbaumer and Lisa Schwartz. Denise Albsmeyer and Trista Neisen were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Phelan, Barb Speckhart, Don Miller and Nancy Cromie.

VISITORS
Diane Germann, Lucas Brass, Tahnee Bauer

PUBLIC
Lucas Brass gave the board an update on Athletic Club projects.

TECHNOLOGY REPORT
Barb Speckhart reported that new courses were added at the high school.  There were some chromebook and printing issues that had to be resolved after the return from Christmas break.  She also talked about the cyber security conference she attended.

AD REPORT
Don Miller gave an update on sports that are currently in season.

CONSENT AGENDA
Donley made a motion to approve the consent agenda.   Barry seconded the motion.  AYE:  Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Schwartz   NAY:  None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Donna Veile gave an update on the weight room project and the maintenance grant.  The fire marshal did an inspection in early January and the results will be shared at the February meeting.  There were heating issues during the recent cold weather snap.  Cyber security was discussed.


IASB POLICIES
Barry made a motion to approve the second reading of IASB policies as listed on the agenda.    Hagerbaumer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Julie Phelan gave an update on activities at the elementary. On January 8th the teachers attended trainings on AI and Brain Balance.  Legacy Martial Arts will be giving a demonstration to all students.  A slideshow of 2nd grade activities was presented.

SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Greg Buescher submitted a report on activities at the junior high/high school.  Homecoming activities will take place January 22nd-26th.  On January 8th the teachers attended trainings on AI and ways to integrate literary text, statistics and probability across the curriculum. 

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION
Donley made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session.  Barry seconded the motion.  AYE:  Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Schwartz   NAY:  None
Entered into closed session at 7:33 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION
Barry made a motion to return to open session.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Schwartz   NAY:  None
Returned to open session at 9:03 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM
Barry made a motion to approve the personnel addendum.  Board seconded the motion.   AYE:  Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ADDITIONAL ITEMS
There was discussion on cafeteria items and the upcoming IASB division meeting.
