SEPTEMBER MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 18, 2025

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Lisa Schwartz called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Roll was taken with the following members present:  Denise Albsmeyer, Keith Barry, Russ Board, Cory Hagerbaumer, Trista Neisen, and Lisa Schwartz.  Danelle Donley was absent

Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Molidor, Greg Buescher and Tyler Duschinsky.

 

VISITORS
Diane Germann, Jackie Mosley, Jodie Mauck, Tahnee Bauer, Blake Wolf, Shelby Turner, Kristin Turner

Donley entered at 7:03 p.m.

 

NEW STAFF
New staff members were introduced to the board. This included:  Shelby Turner, para and Kristin Turner, 1:1 nurse



AD REPORT
Tyler Duschinsky shared a report on sports currently in season.  Press Yours On You is working to get the gym sports banners updated.

 

TECHNOLOGY REPORT
Lucas Ayers submitted a report on technology issues over the past month.

 

CONSENT AGENDA
Barry made a motion to approve the consent agenda.   Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz  NAY:  None

 

FY26  BUDGET
Albsmeyer made a motion to open the budget hearing.  Schwartz seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None 

There was no public comment.

Barry made a motion to close the budget hearing.  Hagerbaumer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None                                                                                                                                  

Neisen made a motion to approve the FY26  budget.  Board seconded the motion.   AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

 

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Donna Veile talked about funding for the Title 1 and PreK programs and the maintenance grant.  There was also discussion on the selection of brick and flooring for the JH/HS kitchen/classroom addition.

 

HAZARDOUS BUS ROUTES
Neisen made a motion to approve the hazardous bus routes as listed on the agenda.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None 

 

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Julie Molidor shared that MAP testing has been completed and intervention programs have been started.  The first TRIBE opportunity is September 19 and students will complete a getting to know you activity and have a TRIBE photo taken.  The PTO fundraiser just ended.  Special Person’s Day had a large turnout.  A 3rd grade curriculum update was shared.

 

JH/HS PRINCIPAL REPORT
Greg Buescher reported that MAP testing has been completed.  Several college representatives have made visits to the school.  Safety drills have taken place.  Staff are continuing training with the ROE.  

 

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION
Barry made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, collective bargaining, no trespass order, and other items appropriate for closed session.  Donley seconded the motion.   AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz  NAY:  None
Moved to closed session at 7:16 p.m.

 

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION
Barry made a motion to return to open session.  Donley seconded the motion.   AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz  NAY:  None
Returned to open session at 8:47 p.m.

 

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM
Barry made a motion to approve the personnel addendum.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz  NAY:  None

 

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT–NON-CERTIFIED STAFF
Donley made a motion to approve the collective bargaining agreement for the non-certified through the 2027-28 school year.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None 

 

ADDITIONAL ITEMS
There was discussion on pay for substitutes.

SUMMARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 18, 2025 BOE MEETING


BOARD ACTION/DISCUSSION

The board approved the consent agenda and hazardous bus routes.  A budget hearing was open and closed with no public comment.  Then the board approved the FY26 budget. There was also discussion on the pay for substitutes.

Coaching resignations:  Dusty Bingaman as assistant JH girls’ basketball coach; Robin Fessler as assistant JH volleyball coach

Coaching appointments:  Travis Johnson as head JH boys’ basketball coach; Trey Johnson as assistant JH boys’ basketball coach; Jordan Cook as assistant JH girls’ basketball coach; Blake Schwartz as volunteer HS/JV boys’ basketball coach

Maternity leave:  Madison Rees for 8 weeks, beginning approximately January 16, 2026

The next regular meeting will be Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
