*Lunch for Tues, Feb 7 is pasta bar, garlic stix, tossed salad & fruit

*Quiz Bowl is hosting the PCC Scholastic Bowl tonight, starting at 4:30.

*The JH Valentines Dance is this Sat, Feb 11 from 7-10.  Cost is $3.00/person.

*Art Club members - please bring your food and decorations on Friday.  If you are bringing fruit, please bring that on Saturday.

*Books are available in the library for:  Noah Brinkman, Robin Lehfeld and Gabby Miller

*HS Book Club will meet on Weds, Feb 15 during HS lunch in the library.

*Pep Club still has some 2011-12 basketball shirts available.  See Ms. Isaacks or Mrs. Reeves if you want one.

*Pep Club is selling Payson Seymour lanyard with a detachable clip for $7.00.  An example is hanging in the office window.

*Students interested in finding out about the many career areas in agriculture are invited to JWCC Ag Center in Perry on Mon, Feb 27.  Tours of the Ag Center will begin at 4:00 pm.  A meal will be provided later in the evening.  If you are interested, you must contact the Ag Center by Feb 16 at 236-4711.

*The Music Boosters are sponsoring a Valentine's Dance & dinner on Feb 18 from 6-10 pm.  There will be live music and a dinner of ham, twice baked potatoes, vegetable & salad.  Tickets are $15.00/person and reservations are due in by Feb 8.  All proceeds go to buy marching band uniforms.

*Sophomores & Juniors are invited to participate in Adams Electric Coop's "Youth to Washington" program.  Four local students will be selected to win a week-long tour of Washington DC.  Applications are available in the office and are due Feb 24.

*Unity's 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be March 10.  Entry forms are available in the office and the deadline for entries is Feb 25. 

*The weight room is open every Monday Wednesday and Friday.  It is open to all athletes.

*Any student needing community service hours, the Athletic Club has a need to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets.  If you are interested, please contact TinaLenz 242-5001

*Lunch for Mon, Feb 6 is chicken strips, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans & fruit

*JH Volleyball plays tonight at home vs Pleasant Hill at 6:00.

*Fresh Basketball plays tonight at Pittsfield at 6:30.

*Liberty-Payson Girls Basketball plays tonight in their regional at Camp Point Central.  They play Rushville at 6:00.

*Quiz Bowl has a meet tonight at Pittsfield at 4:00.

*Athletic Club meets tonight in the library at 8:00 pm.

Quincy Preserves is offering scholarships at $500.00 each to students in the Adams County area.  With the completed application, you must submit a two page essay on historic architecture.  Deadline is March 31, 2012.  See Mrs. Callahan for all of the information.

Could Facebook Timeline Embarrass You?

On February 7th Facebook Timeline will be automatic for every Facebook user.  At that time anything you have have posted will become permanent and not be able to be removed.  The timeline will chronicle everything since you started your account.   This includes those "cute" comments you made when you were in Junior High School as well as those embarrassing photos.  Now is the time to clean it up!  To find out more read the following articles:

Hy-Vee Awards Smartboard

Payson Seymour Elementary was awarded a SMARTboard from Hy-Vee for placing first in its SMART points competition.  Participants earned SMART points for purchasing Proctor & Gamble products from Hy-Vee.  Those points then had to be redeemed online in the name of Seymour Elementary.  The faculty, staff, and administration would like to thank Hy-Vee for this gift as well as all of those supporters who redeemed their points online in the name of Seymour Elementary.  The board will be be placed in Mrs. Mena's 5th grade classroom. Pictured are Hy-Vee Representatives, Daryl and John, and 5th grade students Ailaa Ippensen, and Rachel Kennedy.
